Measles is a Negative Single- Stranded RNA Virus.
- Measles genome consist of one or more molecules of single stranded " anti tense" RNA
- The core contains RNA replicase or an RNA dependent RNA polymerase.
- Once released to the host cell, the polymerase makes many complementary copies of the genome that then serves as messenger RNAs
- These are then translated into protiens needed to create new virons
Why is important? The end result are many many copies of mRNA
